What to Look for in a Professional Synthetic Turf Installer
Due Diligence
Do the same background check on your synthetic turf installer as you would with any home contractor or landscape contractor. How long has your installer been in business? What's your installer's reputation with prior customers? Check your installer's portfolio of work. Even timeliness of responses from your installer can give you insight into how your installer does business.
Visit Yards
Visit some yards where your installer has put in synthetic turf. You'll find that this is probably the best way to assess your installer's work. Try to visit between one and three yards. Try to see yards that are similar to your yard.
Exclusive Installers
Is your installer an exclusive installer? That is, does he exclusively install products from only one synthetic turf supplier? If so, one advantage with this type of installer is that he probably has formal installation training. A drawback may be that this installer is contractually bound to install only one supplier's turf.
Independent Installers
Is your installer an independent installer? That is, he has no exclusive ties to one turf supplier. An obvious advantage to using an independent installer is that you will have different turf brand options available to you outside the universe of the exclusive suppliers. A drawback may be that this installer does not have the proper training to professionally install synthetic turf.
